
I grew up in Medford OR loving physical activity. I always found a way to stay active in some form or another whether it be playing volleyball, running track and cross country or working out at the local YMCA. I was fortunate to have all these opportunities literally out my back door. I guess you could say I was raised in the gym! Some of my earliest memories are of being at the YMCA swimming, playing pool, basketball, racket ball and day camp. As a teenager and young adult I enjoyed group fitness classes and lifting weights. In my early twenties I began taking Tae Known Do and eventually earned my Brown belt.
Having always enjoyed the gym life I went back to lifting weights, but this time I had a goal in mind of possibly competing in Bodybuilding. In August of 2000 a local Bodybuilding competition took place in Medford called the Bill Pearl Classic. I decided this was my opportunity to see if this was really something I wanted or had the guts to do. Watching the show I became totally inspired, yet scared to death at the thought of being on stage in a bikini! However, I was hooked! I decided I was going to train to compete. I hired a personal trainer at my gym, who happened to be a bodybuilding competitor himself. I trained hard for over a year and finally competed for the first time in 2002, taking 2nd place. I then competed several more times in bodybuilding always placing in the top 4 of my class.
In 2004 I decided Figure competition was more my style and made the switch. I continue to compete once or twice a year. My most recent competition was here in Bend at the High Desert Classic on May 3rd, 2008, taking 1st place in my class.
I've always had a love for fitness and nutrition & the passion to help others. I decided to take my passion to the next level by pursing my certification as a Personal Trainer. In August of 2008 I achieved that goal and received my certification through American Counsel on Exercise. I am currently working on my Nutrition and Weight Management certification and I plan to further my knowledge and skill as a Personal Trainer by taking classes at COCC.
It is my passion to help others achieve their best! Whether your goal is to lose weight, gain muscle or simply get healthy and be more active, I will be your biggest cheerleader and supporter. I am dedicated to you, as an individual. I will work one on one with you to design a program that best fits with your goals and need. I love being creative when it comes to designing programs and I'm always up for a good challenge.
